Connaissez-vous TED ? 18 minutes pour changer le monde.

Voici un film qui situe le phénomène TED :

Depuis 25 ans, la conférence TED aux Etats-Unis rassemble des esprits brillants dans leur domaine pour partager leurs idées avec le monde. TED (pour « Technology, Entertainment, Design ») : ces conférences ont fait des émules dans le monde entier grâce à Internet.

Qu’est-ce que TEDx?

Face à son succès, TED a voulu permettre à la communauté élargie de ses fans de diffuser l’esprit TED autour du monde. Le programme TEDx a été créé pour cela: une série de conférences pour continuer à partager des idées et la passion de la connaissance. Le x signifie qu’il s’agit d’événements qui sont organisés indépendamment tout en respectant un certain nombre de critères définis par TED.

Le casting et le principe sont calqués sur le modèle du TED californien :

• réunir sur un même thème des personnes d’horizons divers, scientifiques, intellectuels ou créateurs et promouvoir des idées pour changer le monde.
• Quelle que soit leur notoriété, les intervenants ont carte blanche pour exposer leurs idées pendant 18 minutes sur l’avenir et l’innovation.
• Les conférences, orchestrées comme un show, sont filmées et diffusées gratuitement sur le site http://www.ted.com/ :  500 millions de vues à ce jour.
• Le progrès vient de la circulation des idées : 2000 événements TEDx ont été organisés sous licence dans 90 pays depuis 2009. Le 1er évènement TEDx en France a vu le jour en mai 2009 sous la houlette de TEDxParis.

TED has established the annual TED Prize, where exceptional individuals with a wish to change the world are given the opportunity to put their wishes into action; TEDx, which offers individuals or groups a way to host local, self-organized events around the world; and the TED Fellows program, helping world-changing innovators from around the globe to become part of the TED community and, with its help, amplify the impact of their remarkable projects and activities.
